The Falton Bazaar – Items for Sale

Market (Lonelee Road Tavern)

One of the oldest establishments in Falton, the Tavern is run by the kindly Olvard and his wife, you can be assured of having all of your needs met when you visit the Tavern.  They have a plethora of goodies (and can direct you toward band-aids, or sunscreen, or whatever the situation requires.)

  • 5 gold:  Cookies
  • 10 gold:  Twinkies
  • 15 gold:  Jerky
  • 300 gold: Revive potion refills (BYOB) – revives someone who is “mostly dead”
  • Plus other goodies and supplies.

Chancery (At the Tavern)

Titles of Nobility can be purchased – just like in real life!  Some offer specific privileges.  Others are just for the joy of having a special title.  They cannot be looted, but some quests may challenge your right to keep the title. Each title has a limited availability. You can trade in your current title as credit toward your next title.

Titles will be identified by a ribbon.  All ribbons must be turned in to the Chancery before leaving the LARP.  The Chancery is like the bank of titles; it will be safe till you return for the next LARP.

  • Arch Bishop – You get to call yourself the Arch Bishop! Crown the King/Empress 4000gp.  (2 available, white ribbon)
  • Duke/Duchess – You may ask people to bow when they greet you. If they do not, you can ask any shop keeper in town to put out a warrant for their arrest. Cannot be looted for the first full LARP 7000gp. (2 available, yellow ribbon)
  • Knight – Peasants have to call you sir or dame. They are the preferred guards of Falton.  Their assistance is needed for guarding a treasure or capturing an outlaw or other noble tasks.  Expected to be the town posse. Will be paid for services by whoever hired them. While under any contract you get an extra health point till the next festival. This can only be purchased no more dubbing by Crown. 10,000gp.  (8 Available, red ribbon)
  • Surgeon – This person can revive people during their 2 minute period of “Mostly Dead”, via a 30 second touch.  If successfully revived, the injured person does not have to return to Falton and is instead immediately back in the game at full HP.  However, since field facilities are substandard, when you attempt to revive someone, there is a 50% chance that the field revive will not work (represented by a coin flip).  If the revive fails, there is no option but for the patient to wait the remaining duration of their bleedout and then return to a spawn point.  They are not revive-able even by a potion.   15,000 gold (1 available per clan, green ribbon + a coin)
  • Prince/Princess – You get to make a decree at one of the festivals. 15,000gp. (2 available, royal blue ribbon)
  • Empress – You get to collect a cut gem from everyone you ask during a festival. You sit at the seat of honor for the tournaments. 25,000gp (1 Available, purple ribbon)

Games of Chance (Near Falton Tower)

  • Take your chances against Mr. Gold’s Wheel of Fortune.  Here you can bet your gold in hopes of winning shillings!

Jester’s Closet (Near the Stage)

  • Handmade and period novelties and precious heirlooms offered by Imogen and Cecil.  These are purchased with Shillings.  These two are travelers.  They are not the most familiar with Falton happenings, but they know everything about the surrounding lands.
  • Offerings include pendants, maps, lanterns, Celtic stones and much more!

Salty Broth Inn (At the Stage)

  • A variety of choice beverages, brewed and served by the lovely local town-girls, Rachael and The Witch Hazel and sold for gold.  Pull up a bench and share a tale.
  • These ladies have their ear to the ground, so to speak.  This is the place to be if you have information to sell, or some you’d like to purchase.
  • Also, The Witch Hazel has been known to make special brews for special purposes, for a special price.  That’s all I’ll say about that…

Knife Throwing (Between Falton Tower and the Stage)

  • This is self-serve and on the honor system.  Three gold pieces will buy you three knives to throw.

Wandering Merchants

  • On any given day there will be pedestrian merchants pedaling a variety of wares.  These prices and services are often negotiable.  While many a bargain can be procured, the caution of Buyer Beware is still good advice.  Since we are a civil town though, if you feel you have been mistreated, one of Falton’s Knights can be hired to take up the case for you.  They will ensure justice runs its due course.
