Falton Festival or Open Mic

Which is more fun?  The fights, games, and role playing of Falton Festival, or the silly antics and talent of Open Mic night?  Hmmm, that’s a hard one.  Fortunately, on Saturday, we don’t have to choose — we’ll do both! For open mic, it is: NTR (no talent required)! Audience participation is at least half of the fun. I’m expecting lots of people wanting to participate, so let’s keep the performances shorter (1-4 minutes).  If …

Bring an Umbrella

I have a room reserved in town, in case we were getting a lot of rain tonight, but, with only a 15% chance of light rain — let’s meet at the amphitheater and bring an umbrella.  Last time the fire, candles and flashlights added to the magic and we can’t take those indoors. I’ll have the truck parked by the theater so you can store your instruments/supplies in there in case of a sprinkle. Arrive …

“The Merry Tipperaries” Have Been Practicing

The Sweet Rayne amphitheater has been hearing a delightful, 4-person, itinerant troupe of minstrels, The Merry Tipperaries, practicing for Friday.   Plus, there’s been some comedy straight from the corn field.  This is going to be a fun evening. I wanted to mention that we’d love to have your parents join us — up on the stage, or in the audience.  At Sweet Rayne we believe everything is more fun when mom and dad join …

The “Ain’t never done this before” is almost here!!!

I’m preparing my material.  I hear of others doing the same.  I know there is one wonderful, never-been-heard-before song that will be sang.  All of this for the open-mic night at the acoustic theater. All the details are in the last TorchLightLARP.com post.  We’ll provide a mic and speaker (ok, so we won’t all have to be acoustic), and everything else will come in your cars.  Come early if you need to set up anything. …

Open Mic at the Acoustic Amphitheater

Remember the fun after the last LARP when we were laughing and singing and dancing on the stage after the Celts bid their farewell?  What do you say we do that again?  Do you have a song, joke, poem, story, magic trick, juggling trick, acrobatic display, dance, Lego creation, etc., etc., etc. that you can share with us, or that we can join you in?  Or, would you like to join the audience for smiles, …

Scribe’s Chronicle of the Battle for Falton

Falton’s horn bows and Roam insults them, laughing at it as if it were a silly sound. Their laughter is quickly swallowed, for with a yell, a band of Scots run from the woods onto the field and joins Falton’s side. Roam then charges, and utter chaos ensues. After some short-lived (literally) hand-to-hand combat, the Faltonians fall back to New Falton.  As the ranks of each side re-form, it can be seen that Dimitri, …

Salvation by the Scots

Saturday was a day to remember. Before the day, Quest Sean Mark successfully got a letter through, via Aranel’s carrier chickens, to his kin in Scotland asking for help against the Roamans. On the day: Roam killed Woodren for treason. Sheriff Dirk Williams rallied New Falton, as Dimitri rallied Roam for war. The kilt-wearing Scots, led by The MacRagnell, came down from the hills and joined New Falton just as the battle lines formed. Dimitri …

They saw the sun in Indiana today.  What is seen in Indiana today will be seen in Ohio tomorrow.  I wasn’t going to bother the Lord with a request about the weather on our play-day, but it looks like some of you did!  Yes, of course, LARP is ON for tomorrow. There will be an Archery training/competition tomorrow.  You are welcome to bring your own bow and arrows or use ours. Game starts at 5:00 …
