I hope this posts correctly…
We have done an excellent job with our weapons. We have done an excellent job with our costumes. Let’s now tackle our role playing. Please scroll down to the posting, “Are you ready to take it up a notch?” to see what I’m talking about.
For Saturday, because of the heat, we will make battles and questing shorter, and our festivals longer. As such, this will be an excellent opportunity to make your character known.
After the introductory announcements and the pictures, when we go out to the Celtic Dance, give Tom, Dick, Harry, Mary, and Jane (the person you were on Friday) a vacation, and become your LARP personality to the fullest. At that point, you become a character in the Torch Light LARP play — a play where you write the script as you go. Let Savine, Midnight, Azroc, Ivy, and Sir Israel come to life and let them life to their fullest for the next 4 hours.
When you are questing and meet a fellow traveler, interact with them as would Lance, Dimitri, or Kat. When the call to festival is made and you enter Falton for food and beverage, stay in character. Behave in town as Little John, Stryker or Alexander Wolf would behave when they visit town after having wandered the forest and fields of Falton for a season. Tell the stories of your adventures in Falton and the surrounding lands. Listen attentively to the stories of others. Try to pick a pocket, or go out of your way to do a good deed. Start a riot, or provide encouragement to the downtrodden. Whatever Ashildr, or Jaroen Folk, Sneed the Betrayer, or the Witch Hazel would do in such a situation — do it!
This is our next challenge. With good weapons and costumes and role playing, this will be a grand finale to a grand year! We’ll be putting the Role Playing into Live Action!
Huzzah!
Stryder
Huzzah! Let’s DO this thing!! It’s our chance to do crazy, wild, bold things we might never dream of doing in real life, but out here in our own little “Brigadoon” we have not the restraints of regular, daily life (only the rules of Torchlightlarp and our excellent StoryMaster) to hold us back. Let our characters and their stories populate Falton where inhabitants actually know one another as friends, enemies, acquaintances, neighbors, scalawags, scofflaws, mischief makers, suspicious new-comers from distant, unknown lands, or Sackville-Bagginses… and thus become a real town! 🙂 (Cue Concerning Hobbits music)
I believe there are also “Disturbers of the Peace” in Falton. Consider this a call-to-action: Disturb your hardest!
It worked! I (Stryder) made a posting!! Ah, the power of the pen!!!
