This was a day of fun, friendships, and storytelling. No invading trolls, no War Boys, no discord with Roam (except for signage propaganda…).
We enjoyed campfires, and soup, and soup, and soup, and a mountain of snacks.
At lunch we were entertained by storytelling of the oddest fashion. And we enjoyed a fashion show where we were given the insider secrets to Thrift Stores and the produce of the great Amazon forest, where you can harvest both attire and weapons.
We enjoyed the classic Torch Light LARP Celtic dance, and the first-ever-all-together Rebel Piper dance.
There were tournaments where many of the valiant showed their prowess with weaponry before the King.
The roleplaying was the best ever. The tales and brew at the Salty Broth Inn were fine, as were Witch Hazel and Rachael, who kept the glasses full. The Census of Roam also brought out some good tales of woe and fortune.
Concerning the roleplaying. Did you meet the one traveler from the desert regions so far away it is not even on Falton’s map — who was complaining of the cold all day for there was no winter in her land? She was so convincing I’m still not sure if she was from Waynesville, or was truly just passing through from lands unknown.
Then there were Warrior Training Stations for:
- Strength – Rock Put
- Accuracy – Lawn Rock
- Hand-Eye-Coordination – Knife Throwing
- Dexterity – Caber Toss
- Pure Dumb Luck – Rock Roll
Thanks to our trainers for taking our troops to the next level.
Then, there was Rootball! Running, fighting, clear objective, fast paced. This seemed to have been enjoyed by all.
Speaking of a clear objective, did you see Fat Mike’s single minded focus – eating.
In addition to the newest addition of the Salty Broth Inn, there was an even newer addition which was a market selling Celtic and medieval wares of the cutest and highest quality. As was described, purchases at this shop are made with a special currency which is being minted. I understand they will return, so drop by and talk to the proprietors, Robin and Imogen.
The belle of the ball was one of the ladies who we often see at the Lonely Rode Tavern, whose name has not yet been recorded in the chronicles, though I do know she is a close companion of Reyna P. Alcazar. She was in a new dress fresh from the aforementioned Amazon forest and looked the part of high-society.
We had nearly a dozen newbies who all earned their stripes and are welcome to return. Some were from over an hour away. (Then there was that one fellow who….. Just kidding.)
Thank you for sharing your Saturday with us. See you in May, when I can almost guarantee it will be warmer, but there will be some sort of weather looming nearby.

Oh, and I forgot about the attack chickens! How cool were they!!! Kind of like hunting falcons, but they smiled more. 🙂
