FaltIron and Steampunk Western

It is the spring of 1840.  Queen Victoria is ruler of England.  England controls India.  Martin Van Buren is President of the United States.   And FaltIron, is in the middle of it all.

FaltIron is a city with a heritage from the medieval days.  They are a proud people and many believe they are the cradle of civilization — the breeding stock which formed Brittan, and later the United States.  FaltIron is located 200 miles from London, England, 200 miles from El Paso, Texas, and 200 miles from Mumbai, India.  It is a cross-roads of Cultures, Fashion, Technologies, and Ideas.

This historic town was once called Falton, but it recently embraced the new era of Steam, Steel, and Technology by changing its name from Falton to FaltIron!   While we embrace technology, don’t be misled.  Electricity is in its infancy.  For example, the equivalent of a 9 volt battery would be about the size of a shoebox.  The common power source for everything is Steam.

In this day, small technology is rare/impossible.  The smallest invention that could do anything of significance will tend to be the size of a shoebox or a suitcase.  (There are no computer chips.  Electronics rely on tubes — ask your grandpa to describe the radio he grew up with if you don’t know what a tube is.)

So put on your goggles, your brass, your vest, and your favorite weapon, and join us in our first Steampunk Western LARP!

See the Steampunk Western Character page for the instructions.  There are things you need to be doing today to get ready for entering yesterday!  Response requested by May 26th.
