Which is more fun? The fights, games, and role playing of Falton Festival, or the silly antics and talent of Open Mic night? Hmmm, that’s a hard one. Fortunately, on Saturday, we don’t have to choose — we’ll do both!
For open mic, it is:
- NTR (no talent required)!
- Audience participation is at least half of the fun.
- I’m expecting lots of people wanting to participate, so let’s keep the performances shorter (1-4 minutes). If your act is a song, consider limiting it to just a couple of the verses. If time permits, you’re welcome to come back a second time and add some more verses.
- I have seen a picture of the Shepherd’s hook and the fellow wielding it — he’s not afraid to use it (and actually, that will be part of the fun, so just roll with it.) It is not a statement about the fun you’re bringing to the gathering, just a statement about the length of your performance.
- As you already know, parents make everything more fun!. If your parent(s) will join you on-stage, you’ll get preferential treatment.
For open mic, you may want to bring bug spray, blankets or chairs, flashlight, snacks and such. Anyone showing up just for open mic does not have to be in costume.
I’ll write more about the Falton Festival another day.
I can’t wait to see you, and what you bring to the stage!
