Hello fellow dystopian-ers!
Firestone is closing in fast and with only a few days away, I figured I would answer some questions I have been asked and kinda fill ya’ll in if you were wondering these questions as well.
-First off, ammo will be provided. You will start with some, but you will have to buy it after that using in game money. Please don’t bring your own as I am trying to control the flow of combat via the ammo to make the world a little more accurate.
-Firestone is not based in a post apocalyptic America and honestly, I didn’t picture it being based in any real country at all. So please refrain from bringing US flags, emblems, and such. (Although as a side note, the military in this world works very similarly to the US military)
-You will all be divided into clans when you arrive. Each clan has different beliefs and goals, so please keep that in mind when you write your backstory. (Info on clans should go out very very soon)
-If you do not own a gun, we will offer you a pistol to start out with, but if you want to use a better gun, you have to buy or find it in game. Do not worry though, it will not be hard to acquire a better gun. Face masks and goggles will be available.
-If you do not want to Airsoft, but you really like the sound of a post apocalyptic/dystopian LARP, please come anyways. There is a ‘non-combat’ role. Though I cannot promise you will not get shot at all.
-If you have not Airsofted before and would like to try it, please come! It is not hard to learn and we have willing teachers. Work it into your backstory if you want. Eg. ‘I recently found this gun but haven’t learned the finer points of using it yet.’
-I have had a few people ask me if this will be a one time thing or if we will do it again. Simple answer, I don’t know. Stryder and co. is being extremely kind in letting me take over their yard/home for a day and I don’t want to overstay that welcome. Let’s see how this plays out before planning anything new.
A long list of rules will be posted on this website tomorrow. Please be ready to pour yourself a tall glass of milk and prepare for the event by reading them.
-Finally, in a past email, there was a brief miscommunication. Jorrok’s email is @gmail.com not @ymail.com (again, feel free to email me if you have any questions)
This Saturday, the 20th from 12:30-6. Can’t wait!!
-Jorrok
P.S. Yes my name is Jorrok, not Jarrok. That was a typo. 🙂
