Oppression Gives Rise to Submission

My Lord Sesar, Ruler of the civilized world and King of the Roamans,

I bid this letter finds you well my lord, for I have much to report about the Faltonian frontier. Our plan goes well I think, the players are on stage and moving toward the curtain.  The peasants are oblivious to what is happening, and the ones who do grow interested are subtly dealt with. This list includes but is not limited to the Bank of Falton, the monastery, Captain John Sterling Beauregard, the Lonely Road Tavern, the wanderer Stryder, and Quest Sean Mark. This last one was taught a lesson over the winter which brings me pleasure to remember.  He spoke poorly of Roam and her benefactor, so we of course broke his wrist.  Pain is such a wonderful tutor.  He will think twice before he is again disrespectful.

We did intercept a letter calling for some, apparently from another country, to assist New Falton in their struggle against Roam.  The bearer of the letter chose death rather than to divulge the writer or the intended recipients — the Faltonians have no power, but there are at least a few who still possess courage.  It is my personal belief that the Lady Woodren was the author of the letter.  Whether she is or not, I shall move to get rid of her in the near future as either punishment for her foolishness, if she was indeed guilty, or as a sign to others make them wary of taking the foolish path.

The only unforeseen problem is that there are rumors of a troll or monster of some sort on the loose but I dismiss this as a cheap trick to frighten us. Soon New Falton shall fall and your vision of a mart-of-walls in every town shall come true.

I hope that you shall see fit to visit Falton this year. It is small, but I think you shall find the countryside pleasant.  At the same time, I do hope to return to Roam after my work here is done.  I long for the pleasures and amenities you provide those in your service.

Your ever loyal Imperator,  Dimitri

  1. For those of us who are bad with words… “I don’t know what apathy means, but Roam beware of those who call Falton their home! ‘A cornered cat fights harder than when it’s free.’ “

  2. I like political unrest as much as the next entrepreneur, but I’m beginning to feel an inexplicable urge for a vacation…

  3. I am in fear for the Lady Wooden as I feel a deep connection to her for some reason.

I may need to step up security at the Banc of Falton.

I believe the apathy is about to give way to its utter opposite, good Stryder.
Roam, I’d step carefully if I were you. We still have a few tricks up our sleeves.
