The day of Pirate LARP draws near! There is only one thing on many pirates’ minds: Treasure! Rumors abound of many treasures hidden away near the bay of Port Falton. The clever and adventurous among you may wish to set out to find these treasures, because no one can ever have enough loot! However, the local talk is that a deadly curse will befall anyone who seizes a hidden treasure without having it’s accompanying map. Local superstition, maybe, but why take the risk? Treasure maps will be available through a variety of sources, so ask around the port should you desire a treasure hunt. Many folks know the value of a treasure map, however, and may need to be persuaded to give up any maps they have.
On a more technical note, any treasure that you see during the day CANNOT be collected UNLESS you have the map that leads to it. A treasure collected without the map is worthless, due to the ancient pirate curse.
Also, there have been recent reports of a strange aquatic entity of unknown origin. Fishermen and scientists alike are perplexed and curious.
In addition to finding hidden treasures, pirates and lubbers alike may find themselves on adventures such as:
- Doing work for the Wharf Master
- Participating in town competitions
- Helping the Governor
- Robbing others
- Engaging with the mysteries and conflicts woven into everyone’s backstories
- Taking treasure to the Appraiser to learn its value
- Haggling with the carpenters for ship repair
- Whetting their whistle at the King’s Brew Tavern in Port Judas
- Going wherever your imagination takes you!
The story of the day is driven by the participants. If you have an idea that would increase the fun for all, give it a shot.
Regarding the geography of Port Falton, any MOWED grass across the gully from Falton Tower (that is, where the anchored ships are) is the bay of Port Falton. To traverse it, you MUST be in a dinghy. Any area within 10 feet of a tree is an island. Any UNMOWED grass is swampy marshland. Any paths through the woods are jungle paths that can be walked.
