Here layeth the rules. Thou shalt obey them, or face the consequences!
For the safety of all, YOU MUST REPORT unacceptable behavior, someone playing too rough, and all injuries that occur, and hazards noted in the field, to the Storymaster or an at the Lonely Rode Tavern.
On this page are two sets of rules: The simple set for simple people, and the real set for real people.
Simple Rules:
If you are too busy to read through all the REAL rules, or if they make your head hurt, here are the most basic, barebones, need-to-know rules. (If you don’t have time to read these, please stay home and rest!):
- Players and spectators: Dress in a medieval/Robin Hood/pirate/gypsy style costume.
- You start with 4 hit points. In a battle, when you are hit you lose one hit point. If you are hit in the arm or leg, you lose use of that limb. (A hit is a touch – no hard hitting.) No hitting in the head — head shots do not count as a hit. Say “hit” loudly each time you are touched by the opponent’s weapon. When you have been hit 4 times, fall down “mostly dead” for 2 minutes, then return to Falton Tower to be healed.
- Your weapon should be super soft and light and less than 4 feet long.
- Collect things laying in the field that look valuable. Leave treasure chests alone if you haven’t read the real rules.
- You can start a battle anytime except during festivals and in the town (in the area of the Falton Merchants).
- Festivals begin with the sounding of a gong or a bagpipe . All combat stops immediately when a festival is sounded. Players should return to Falton Tower for each Festival.
- Obey the rules that others tell you (because they took the time to read the full set of rules below!)
-
And the #1 rule: Make it fun for everyone!
Real Rules
For the REAL people, HERE are the REAL rules: Click here to download the full LARP Rules
I just noticed that at the top of the rules it says that a fighter can use a shield without penalty, but it never says what the penalty is without being a fighter. You also took out all the rules for super longs weapons and duel wielding. Please explain or add.
Thanks!

Woops, im sorry. I just reread the rules.
Correction: you can fight while you are healing, but you cant move. You and the other player can do anythign you want as long as you dont move your feet and you mantain contact.
Also, the revive brings the player back with 2hp. not 1. and the Field medic has to mantain contact for 30 seconds. not 15
sorry about that! 😀
P.S. Bled out is 3 minutes.
Nevermind
How long can a weapon be without taking hp?
How do you start a faction. I have three people and posssibly more but how do you start one? Does it cost money?
The anticipation and excitement is building to a crescendo as order begins for the day. The air is primed with a medieval glaze …Let the games begin!!
Hello today I was wondering if these arrows would be alright http://www.amazon.com/Nerf-Rebelle-Secrets-Spies-Refill/dp/B00INZO35W/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1453814931&sr=8-4&keywords=nerf+bow+replacement+arrows. I was going to rap then in duck tape but I was wondering if I needed to rap them in foam. That’s all please respond.
Calvin
Hey Calvin, Those look fine. It would be good to paint or duct tape them so they aren’t so colorful. But, even as-is would be ok.
Stryder / Story Master / Papa G.
Thanks i will duct tape them.
Neverbmind there more sections I just didn’t see them…
Ok so I want a axe but it will be about 70″ so can I have it or does it need to be under 4′ so can you email me about that…
You can make a weapon 70 inches if you want, but it will be counted as a pole-arm, and thus you will have a Hit Point penalty if you decide to use it. If you want a long weapon, but don’t want the HP penalty, a weapon length of around 50 inches would work.
Ok well I decided to change to a healer and I know there are rules, for it but… Where are they?! I don’t see them anywhere and if they aren’t any where can I please see them, this would be much appreciated thanks. ?
What do you mean ‘rules for a healer’?
If you mean what are the abbilitys for a healer, then I know the rules are in there, but basiclly you can mantain contact with another player for 15 seconds and it heals 1 hp. (you cant revive somebody like that)
Also you cant fight while you do that. You also have to keep one foot on the ground. So you can both pivot.
If you want to spend some money, you can buy a Field Medic at the taveren. They will give you a coin and if you go to a dead person, and sit beside them for 15 seconds while mantaining contact, you can then flip the coin. If it lands on the side that is positive, then you saved the person and they are back in the game with 1hp. If you fail, they are dead. they have no hope and have to wait for their bled out to end.
Hope that helps!!
