Do you know that falconry is the art and sport of pursuing game animals with a trained bird of prey? Do you know it originated over 4,000 years ago? Did you know the sport is alive and well today? Do you know that a 2-year apprenticeship is required to enter the sport? Do you know we have a falconry school right here in Ohio? Did you know that the bird pictured above (or one of its classmates) will be at the next LARP?
You didn’t know?!? My goodness, entire volumes could be written about the stuff you don’t know!
Well, you can increase your knowledge and start the journey into falconry by joining us at 5:30 p.m. on October 13th for an introduction offered by the Ohio School of Falconry (http://www.ohioschooloffalconry.com). You will learn the basics, see the birds up close and personal, see the birds in action, and… better sit down for this one… You will get to fly one of these majestic creatures to the glove you are wearing!!!
So write this early start time on your calendar — 5:30 p.m. (we are racing against sunset), and come join us for the final, gala, awesome, spectacular, UBER-LARP of the year!!!
Stryder — servant to the town of Falton
Can’t contain my excitement! How awesome is this?
Now that’s the type of excitement an opportunity like this should generate!
(Please, do not bring any chickens nor small dogs to this event…) 😉
Noted! Bard the Brave and Majestic dragon slayer will tend to his other fowl duties this LARP!
Regular chickens and small dogs could fall prey to the Falcon.
Bard the Brave and Magestic’s uber-fightin’-chickens may actually be a danger to the Falcon!
Ohhh! How insanely awesome is that?!?! Really?!? Up close and personal? To my own gloved hand?? CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!! ???
Thank you so much for arranging such an incredible opportunity!!!
Much thanks to Windswept the Bold for introducing me to Joe, the proprietor of the Falconry school.
