Warning from King Phillip

The Watch just delivered this blood-stained letter from the nearby kingdom of Brickham Heath:

Though communications betwixt our kingdoms have been sparse in recent generations, the ancient alliance between our peoples during the Wars of the Vigils has come again to my memory. In times such as these, I remember the tales my father once told me of our forefathers that were slain together.

As my own subjects have been brought low by the growing darkness in the Wilderness, and I now face the end of my dynasty, I knew it to be my duty to write to you and warn you of the coming evil. I hope that there can be some way for me now to prevent what has befallen Brickham Heath from befalling our allies in Falton.

Goblins roam freely through the woodland, killing and devouring what they please, unheeding of intimidation by great forces. They are bolstered by an unseen power, and seem to fear neither death nor dismemberment. Their numbers never waver. We know not what guides them or what may stop them. We hope only that you may rally your people, and perhaps guide them to safer lands where this shadow will not yet spread.

I pray that this letter does reach you, people of Falton, and that it arrives in time to save you. I know as I write to you that no such salvation shall reach us here. The barricades will last only hours more.

Godspeed.

-King Phillip of Brickham Heath
